Rio Yachts Parana 38

The redesign of the existing Rio Yachts range is also gaining momentum. Genoa unveiled the redesigned Paranà 38, named after the historic wooden boat from the ’60s. The coupe yacht differs from other cruisers in its stylishly impetuous profile, soft and sleek lines with a graceful top. Even though her overall length with platform is 12 meters, she still qualifies as a «small boat» where the hull length does not exceed 10 meters. The diving platform is so spacious that it is quite possible to accommodate a tender.

The restyling of the exterior on the Paranà 38 is immediately apparent in the new shape of the portholes in the hull. But the main innovations are in the cockpit. Past the large sun bed with adjustable backrest, we enter a well-organized dining room. There is a table for 6-8 guests with an electric lift mechanism. It lowers to the same level as the teak deck surface, but if stopped halfway down it becomes part of the L-shaped sofa, creating an extra large lie-flat aft. And in general the cockpit is well organized. To the left of the control station there is an elevated lounge chair that instantly puts you in a relaxing mood. Behind the captain’s bridge is the kitchen and bar area. With the roof almost fully open, the deck becomes an open-air classroom, a great asset when out at sea — the whole deck fills with fresh sea breezes. Here you can dine during the day, hidden from the sun, and enjoy dinner in the evening.

The side decks leading to the bow are not particularly wide, but are also equipped with safety handrails. The sun deck, which is located in this part of the boat, is very spacious due to the fact that all mooring equipment, including the anchor, is hidden in the underdeck space.

The interiors of the Paranà 38 are very refined and bright, thanks to the white wood flooring with the highest quality finishes. As in the cockpit, a folding table rises from the deck and allows guests to take their meals while seated on a comfortable U-shaped sofa. To the left of the stairs is a small kitchen with a cooktop and sink.

The double bed in the cabin double successfully fills the forward space, and still there is room for a small closet. At the same time the ceiling height is very good. Nevertheless, the main innovation is the master stateroom. There are two possible layouts: with a classic double bed in the center of the cabin or with one double and one single bed at the same time. The latter can rotate 90° across the hull to accommodate, for example, a couple with a child in the same space. The master suites have their own bathroom. Moreover, all interiors feature stylish details and refined materials. The Paranà 38 has a top speed of 35 knots and an average cruising speed of 27 knots with fuel consumption of only 91 liters. All this with twin Volvo Penta D4-300 drives.
