One of the leading manufacturers of marine electronics Garmin has introduced new solutions and technologies for 2022. According to the manufacturer, Garmin Navionics+ and Garmin Navionics Vision+ offer a comprehensive mapping solution that includes improved color reproduction and detail, as well as daily map updates.
The new design will allow for greater detail in coastal and inland features, and will provide an improved image. As a result — clearer navigation on lakes or seas. In the new version, the developers promise a detailed map of both «under water» and surface objects.
The new Garmin Navionics+ and Garmin Navionics Vision+ mapping also includes Auto Guidance+ technology, which now provides faster route calculation and improved route elaboration. Before suggesting a route, Auto Guidance+ analyzes and takes into account many factors, ranging from the depth of the reservoir to possible hazards and obstacles. After selecting the departure and arrival points, Auto Guidance+ will also check the height of the vessel and the presence of bridges.
The new Garmin maps also feature color-coded depth ranges and site contours down to 0.5 meters, as well as shallow water shading. The maps also include about 42,000 lakes around the world and all this data is updated daily. Interestingly, Garmin Navionics+ or Garmin Navionics Vision+ comes with an annual upgrade subscription.
For more advanced features, boaters and anglers can upgrade to the premium Garmin Navionics Vision+. Garmin Premium Mapping includes all the standard features of Garmin Navionics+ plus unique 3D images, high resolution satellite imagery, aerial photography and more.
