The Norwegian shipyard Marex has presented a project for a new cruiser Marex 42. This boat will be the flagship of the shipyard, its length is 13.65 meters and width — 4.25 meters. It is also likely that the final dimensions of the boat will depend on the length of the bathing platform chosen.
Marex 42 was created by a team of architects and designers from Slovenia, with whom the shipyard has been closely cooperating over the past few years. Naval architecture was developed by Nikl design, and exteriors and interiors by VOM Creations.
The new 42-foot cruiser marks the Norwegian manufacturer’s move to the next level. The exterior of the Marex 42 features sportier lines and a more dynamic profile. At the same time, family features of the shipyard are clearly visible here, such as large elongated portholes, an abundance of chrome and wood in the finish, rounded lines and much more. It is known that several modifications of the boat will be built on the basis of the Marex 42 at once — an open and a closed Coupe.
The most innovative thing on board the Marex 42 is the bold layout of the saloon and cockpit. The version of the boat, which Marex calls the Gourmet Cruiser, will have the largest kitchen of its classmates, with more storage space. At the junction of the open cockpit and saloon there is a bar counter with swivel bar stools that can be adjusted in height and attached to the dining table. If the owner wants to separate the cockpit with a door, then an additional dining room may appear in the salon. And in the case of a single space with a cockpit, a dining table with a sofa corner will be only in the cockpit, and the salon space is occupied by an extended kitchen area. A grill can also be installed on the open deck.
The manufacturer has declassified so far only part of the interior details. The shipyard plans to offer several living space layouts. The future owner will be able to choose a two- or three-cabin lower deck layout, as well as dark or light wood interior trim.
It is known that the boat will be equipped with a pair of stationary engines. The official presentation will take place in Düsseldorf in 2023.
